A story

Once upon a time around 2000 years ago a man was born. He lived for us and died for us. he said he has come for the sinners not the righteous. That means He came for me and for you. He started teaching at the age of 30. (All His teachings are there in the chapters Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the Bible) Within a couple of years he had 100s and 1000s of followers. What He taught was different, the way He taught was different. He was dynamic, energetic, authoritative but full of love. The authorities started getting insecure because people were calling him king of Jews. But Jesus said "My Kingdom is not of this world" Because of the many miracles he performed curing the sick, raising people to life, feeding thousands he was followed by crowds. But He ran away from it all. His kingdom was my heart which He won and each and every heart that believes in Him. He was made fun of, crucified. It was painful. Being a Christian

I just finished reading the book Power in Praise by Merlin Carothers As charismatics we hear ‘Praise the Lord’ constantly. During the family rosary I sometimes ask my kids to say one thing they wish to thank God for. Obviously something positive in their life. Then people also keep saying be positive ... see the bright side of things. This book made me realise I am not much of a Christian. As long as things are fine I say God you are great. I give you control of my life. You are my master. But when things are not going my way I say, “Excuse me God now let me take the reins, you just sit next to me”. And then I take control... He watches me messing things further. He sees me getting anxious, struggling striving. He waits. Until I say Lord pull me out.  Who are perfectionists? Is it wrong to be one? I'll tell you what is wrong. There is nothing wrong in aiming for perfection. But there is something wrong if we get highly anxious if things don't go 100 % our way. I...
